Thanksgiving and Christmas

Well as always I'm a little behind on updating the blog!
For Thanksgiving we again went to Silver Falls and had our meal in the cozy cabin. This is my favorite tradition we do so I was excited to be there with the fam and enjoy the great food!
The next morning (Black Friday) the boys hit the stores early and the girls slept in. They got some good deals and surprised us with their dedication to shopping!

For Christmas we went to Denver and hung out with the Marsh family. Hailey, Trev and the girls we able to make it so we had a great time hanging out and going meal to meal!

Unfortunately I was not on the ball in Denver and I didn't take any pictures! But we had a great Holiday season and sad it went by so fast! We are excited for this new year and what it will bring. We have a lot of big decisions ahead of us and we are looking forward making the best of it!

Well this thing called work has really messed up my schedule! As much as I love not having to study for tests or doing any homework, I really miss being a student. I had so much more free time and I guess even then I didn't update the blog on a regular basis, but I feel like I had more energy to do it. These days are filled with long days at the "office" and Chase getting home late from Clinic, so our time together has been cut down dramatically. But we have have slipped in some fun in the last month.
Chase was able to go on the hunt this year! I love when Chase gets excited to do something and I know that the hunt is his 2nd favorite thing to do behind skiing with me of course! haha just kidding! He has told me more than once that he loves to spend time with his brother and dad and the hunt is something they have always done together. I made sure he took pictures this year so I could see the buck they got, so here are a few!

Next was Halloween. I like Halloween but it's not favorite holiday. The thing I do love about it though, is carving pumpkins! I love taking my time to pick the best pumpkin and then carving a better design than the year before. The harder it is the more I love it. This year Chase drew the designs on our pumpkins and we carved them while watching Corpse Bride. Very Festive! Anyway here are Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas in all their glory!

Chase's Bday was also in October and we celebrated by going to dinner and getting him some new pants for the hunt. Now we are prepping for Thanksgiving and Xmas and we both could not be more excited to eat, eat, eat and hang out! Oh ya and to see the families soon!!

Chase's Big Catch!

To cure Chase's hunting blues we went salmon fishing on the Columbia River. We only had one salmon rod and then rigged up my trout rod and crossed our fingers it won't break! After a few hours we decided to switch rods with each other and before I knew it Chase's pole looked like a rainbow. He was using the trout rod and it looked like it was about to break in half! We were both so excited he caught the salmon and of course couldn't wait to have a great meal.

Also right when we got there we noticed a bald eagle with a salmon flying around!

It's official we made it 3 years without a disagreement, a clean house everyday, homemade dinner every night, bed made each morning, and no financial stress!! What a life we live together... if only all of that was true! HAHA!

Seriously though we have had so much fun since we've been married! Maybe a few bumps here and there but nothing we couldn't handle.

For our anniversary we went to our favorite place to stay on the coast. The condos are in Rockaway Beach and they are right on the ocean. We had so much fun while we were there. The weather was awesome (no rain!), and walking the beach is always fun! We skipped church and explored Ecola state park which is so pretty and of course ate delicious clam chowder from Mo's. On our way to Canon Beach we stopped at a lookout above Manzanita. This is also one of our fav places, because you can see so far both North and South and the coast line is very Oregon-esque.

Now that is has been 6 weeks since spring break, I figure it's time for a blog update. We headed down to St. George for break and luckily we are able to see both sides of the family. Our adventures included:

And of course enjoying time with family!

When we got back from St George, Chase and I used our free ski tickets to Mt Bachelor. It was such a perfect day to ski in Bend! Spring break was so fun, and we are glad we could hang out with the fam.

Chase and I are both done with our finals! But, Chase still has boards :( they start tomorrow and end Sunday evening. He has been working so hard studying and trying to cram as much into his noggin as he can. To do my part, I am trying to be as quiet as possible so he can concentrate. So to do this I have kept myself busy by making these little videos on my computer.
When we were camping there were gift cards and they each said advice from a different place in the wild. I thought they were cute so I wrote them down and now turned them into cheesy videos!!

Hope you enjoyed them because I need to say quiet a little bit longer... so that means a few more videos whether you like it or not!!

Prezdents Day "Camping"

Well I guess it's better late than never to blog about our camping adventure over Presidents Day. After we got back from Christmas break we were dreading the winter term of school. So to have something to look forward to in the middle of the term,we planned a little get away to Silver Falls State Park. We rented a little one room cabin for Saturday night.

For dinner that night we cooked up some great dutch oven potatoes, Buffalo burgers and had some great kettle BBQ chip to go along with it all. We were really excited to cook our meal because it was the first time we used the camp chef that we got for Christmas. It worked like a charm! We also topped off the night with a superb raspberry cobbler. We decided it was some of the best dutch over cooking we've done yet!

We had potatoes left over that we planned to use for breakfast burritos(my new favorite food!!) in the morning, so we thought it would be fine to leave them in the dutch oven out over night. Around 4 am we were woken up to some loud clanking on our deck. We figured it was an animal trying to get our delicious food, so we turned on the porch light and found a raccoon snooping around and attempting to get into the potatoes. This cridder didn't have a chance at opening the lid, but as soon as we had the chance Chase brought the dutch oven inside for the rest of the night. (if you look close you can see the raccoon on the railing of the deck!)

The big attraction to Sliver Falls are the 10 waterfalls in a 10 mile circle. We planned to hike to three of the 10 the next morning. First we went to South Falls which we had seen before during Thanksgiving. Chase took a picture with me standing to the side of the fall to show how huge it is compared to me. I am circled in red!

After South Falls we headed to Winter Falls. This is another tall waterfall but it had less water than the other ones but still really pretty.

Finally we ended at North Falls where there is a lookout and you can see the waterfall from the road. Since the waterfall is in a canyon you can hear the water rushing over the edge and hitting the rocks below from a half mile away!It was so pretty from the lookout because you could hear and see the waterfall completely surrounded by huge pine trees.

When we hiked down to North Falls there is a trail that takes you behind the waterfall. This was so cool because it was dark as we walked behind it, but when you look out through the waterfall the green of the trees and moss seemed so bright! We had so much fun this trip we want to make a trip back this summer when the weather is nicer and hike to all 10 falls!

Last few Weeks

So if you have been reading the blog my last post was pretty lame because I couldn't figure out how to get the video posted?! Oh well... on to other things!

The last few weeks have been pretty nice here in PDX. Not too much rain, and mild temps. Finally this week we are getting some snow on Mt. Hood! On the other hand Chase and I have been in the middle of midterms :( But we have been able to enjoy the weekends and take some time to relax and hang out together. Chase was able to get free tickets from school to the Portland Winterhawks hockey game. Since there was a big group of students who went we all got free hats! (I love free swag, even if it is cheap and ugly! haha).

Justin found a great place for shooting so we all took the opportunity to freshen up our skills! The place we went was basically on top of a mountain. The road is tiny but the drive there is really pretty!

Here is a view from half way up the mountain! It was really pretty driving along the Clackamas river and being surrounded by the mountains. If you don't get car sick, Oregon is the place for Sunday drives or scenic road trips!

Then of course the SUPER BOWL! We had quite the feast! We made ribs, chase made guacamole, and I bought wings, cookies, and root beer/cream soda. Not only did we enjoy all the food we ate but our team pulled through with the WIN!

And just as a side comment...we had a doctor night! Well actually Chase's tooth was hurting so Justin took a look with his loops. Then Chase used his otoscope to check in Adalay's ears. This all took place on Chase's adjusting table he bought a few months ago. I love the convenience of having doctors close!

December 2010- Christmas Eve Video

Where has the time gone?! I can't believe Christmas was almost a month ago and we are into our 4 week of winter term! We had a great break though. We first went to St. George and experienced the 2nd 100 year flood in five years haha, mass over eating, fun times hanging out with the fam and a great Christmas. We made a video of the Gentry Family and it's accompanied by the one and only Chelsa Squires on vocals!... The second week of break we went to Denver and hung out with the Marsh Fam. Again we over ate (to our delight), had a mad racquetball tourny, and of course enjoyed our movies. I am sad that I didn't take any photos in Denver, but here is the Gentry video...

'Tis the Season

Time has flown by, which is ok with me! I am finally done with the Fall term and have 21/2 terms to go. Chase starts his finals next week then we are off for our Christmas vaca!! We are so excited to be in St George for the first week then Denver the second week. It will be so nice to not worry about school for awhile.

We had a really fun thanksgiving and start of the Christmas season. We went up to Silverfalls with Caraston, Justin, and the kids. It is kind of a long drive but once you are there it is worth the car sickness haha. The food is so good and the cabin is so cozy. I have come to LOVE making turkey sandwiches with stuffing and cranberries smashed into roll YUM! Silverfalls also has cabins you can rent, so Chase and I are planning to go back in the summer and ride our bikes to the different waterfalls. Anyway we had such a fun time and hope to go back with the Tookes next year!

Saturday after Thanksgiving we went Christmas tree hunting. The tree farm we went to was so funny because the had goats and a mini horse! The trees all smelled so good too. Chase and I have a hard time picking out our tree but this year we are really happy with our choice. Its not too cone shaped, just tall enough and keeps our house smelling great.

When you have cut your tree they shake all the extra needles off then use this machine to bundle it up nice and tight!... I was actually really impressed!

Labor Day

Chase finally had a little break from school, so we took advantage of the time off and went camping. We went to Timothy Lake with the Drake's and Moss's. I was so excited to spend time with Chase and I was happy that he had so time off of school. We camped two nights and of course the weather wasn't that great, but it didn't rain on us so I was happy.
As we were getting our stuff ready to go, we decided that it would be a good time to invest in a new tent. So after some price checking we found the perfect 4 man tent. We hadn't been camping in OR yet so we were excited to use "all"our camping gear. This made us pack way more than anyone would need for two days, but better bring too much than too little right?

We also tried to do some fishing while we were there, but not only was it cold but the wind was out of control. That apparently was in my favor because I was able to catch the only fish of the trip! I am also proud to say that I cleaned my first fish as well.

The whole time we were there we definitely ate well! Chase made dutch oven potatoes, peach cobbler (thanks Heidi for the suggestion) and the trout I caught. The Moss's made burgers that I could live off of if I could, and awesome breakfast burritos! And as each night ended we had to have s'mores!

Eric and Heidi were only able to stay for one night, but we wished they could have stayed longer! As they were leaving the rest of us decided to check out some of the other lakes around the area and we stumbled upon Little Crater Lake. This lake is like nothing else I have ever seen! It is crystal clear blue water and it is 45 feet deep. It was created by the earth shifting and now it is an artesian spring fed by underground springs, and is ice cold!

We had such a fun trip hanging by the fire, fishing, being in good company and of course eating! I am so glad we were able to spend some time roughing it. I am excited to put that tent to more use maybe one more time this year, but for sure next year!

Hood To Coast Relay!!

Last weekend I competed in the Hood To Coast Relay! Just to give you a little background about the relay, it is known as "The Mother of All Relays" and claims to be the biggest one in the world. It is 197 miles starting at Mt. Hood and ending in Seaside (the coast). We had 12 people on our team, but we were split into two vans. I was runner #3, so I was in van 1. Our team started at 7:30am and it was 35 degrees on Mt. Hood!

The legs I ran were not as hilly as some of the other legs, but mine were a little longer distance (I could have prepared a little more for them haha). I started running my first leg at 9am and it was 3.93mi. It was all down hill, so I was able to finish in about 30 minutes. After van 1 finished we were 2 hours ahead of schedule! We had a break for about 4 hours while van 2 was running so we had a nice lunch break and Du's Grill downtown.

After some much needed food and a change of clothes we were back on the road to start running again. Tiffany was runner #1 and she is the one who invited me to join the team. Our team was made up of mostly her cousins and a few friends, but it was really fun to meet new people and run with them. I started my 2nd leg around 7:00pm and this was my longest 7.25mi. This leg took me about 1:13hr. I wasn't too sore to start out the run but by the end my legs and hip flexors were feeling it! While I was running the sun was setting and it was perfect temp to be outside. When I finished it was totally dark, and I'm glad I finished before I had to wear a head lamp.

That night we parked the van at the second van exchange and expected that van 2 would meet us around 4am. We all slept in the van and I think that is the last time I will do that! It was so uncomfortable and just thinking about the air in there makes me kinda sick haha! Luckily for me van 2 was an hour early so I didn't have to sleep anymore, but Tiffany had to hurry and warm up for her 3:30am jog!

I started my final leg around 5am and it was 5.79mi. I was so stiff from being in the van and running the day before I could barely get going for my 3rd leg. I decided to take this leg easy and run 5 minutes then walk 5 minutes. I ended up making a friend while running so we finished the leg together and it was nice to talk and run with someone who is in as much pain as you! By the time we finished our leg it was light out but still pretty chilly. I was so happy that I made it through, but I couldn't believe how sore I was. At the time I was thinking that this was my first and last Hood to Coast, but I can't wait til next year to make a team! (So if you want to join the team next year let me know!!)

This was the final van exchange and the people who own the house had a little snack bar that they ran out of their garage and a designated sleeping area. Van 1 was so happy to be done with their leg and we were excited to get to the coast. Before we hit the road we had to rub our legs a little bit, but it almost hurt me more than it felt good.

We finally made it to the coast and the finish line was on the beach. It was basically a giant party on the beach with a band and vendors everywhere. We hung out there for awhile and when the final runner from our team was done we crossed the finish line together!

We were all so tired but had to pose for one last team photo!

Chase was able to drive all the way out to the coast and meet us in Seaside. Im so glad he came! It was nice to be around someone new and someone you actually aren't sick of. I wasn't sick of my team but being in a van with 6 other people for over 24 hour was enough for me!

I had SO much fun running Hood to Coast and anyone that knows me knows that running is not my specialty, but I can't wait to make a team for next year!!

Ape Caves

I can't believe August has come and gone!! We have been busy with visits from Harry and Kathy, Chelsa, and we also made it to the Dew Tour. I am done with school until September 27th and Chase is still working hard pushing through the summer term. After this summer he will have 4 terms down and 8 more to go! Time has flown by!

When Harry and Kathy were here we all went to the Ape Caves at the base of Mt St. Helens. They are lava caves that were created when the volcano erupted and the average temp in there is 42 degrees. It was so crazy just walking underground through the caves but definitely a fun expedition!

It was so dark in there that if we all turned off our head lamps we couldn't see an inch in front of us! There were a couple tricky parts that we had to climb up but with a little teamwork we all made it safe.

Towards the end of the caves was a little opening above us and that was the first light we saw in an hour and a half!

This was the hole we climbed out of at the very end! It was so crazy to be down there without light for that long! We all had a great time and happy that we made a safe exit!!

After the Ape Caves we had a BBQ at the Trail of Two Forests. This is less than a mile from the Ape Caves and when the lava came through the forest it made casts around giant trees and now you can actually climb in the middle where the tree once was!!

Dew Tour

The weekend I finished my summer classes we celebrated by going to the Dew Tour. The Dew Tour makes stops in Detroit, Portland, SLC, and Vegas. They have a ton of events and the ones we went to were Skate Park, BMX dirt, Skate Vert, and BMX park. All of it was so awesome!! The guys in all the events are SO good at what they do and that makes it so fun to watch them. This year was Shaun White's first appearance in 3 years on the Dew Tour so that was cool to see him in Skate Vert.

While we were at the Skate park prelims Paul Rodreguiz signed my ticket, and not only is he one on my celebrity crushes, but he also ended up winning the event! Garrison was so excited to see Shaun White and was able to have him sign his hat. Chase was great and saving our seats so I surprised him with signatures from Shaun White and Bucky Lasek! We had a lot of fun that weekend and excited to finish out the summer strong!

Deschutes Rafting Adventure!!

Last Saturday we had the opportunity to go back to Maupin and raft the Deschutes River with Justin, Caraston and a few other friends. We were all really excited to get out on the raft and attach the rapids! We left Happy Valley around 7:30am and headed out to Maupin. By the time we got there the sky was bright blue and no clouds to be seen. We met up with the other half of the group and after situating the cars at the top and bottom of the river we were ready to hit the river around 11am.

During some of the slow parts on the river we were able to get out of the raft and jump into the water. We had such nice weather while we were out and the water felt so good and cooled us off.

We were able to stop mid way through the trip and have some lunch. The spread we had was so good! It was a perfect break to refuel us and prepare us for what was to come next!

After hitting a few rapids,lunch, and some swimming breaks we got out of the raft to check out Oak Springs. This was the biggest fall/rapid of the trip and the picture doesn't do it justice. While we were watching other rafts attempt it, we only saw a couple that did not lose anybody out of the raft. I don't know if it was the best idea to see the other people go before us because it caused some uneasiness within our group haha!

After this moment we lost a couple people and had to recover their bodies out of the water! Luckily no one was really hurt other than a bruised elbow. The next photo is in the heat of the moment when everyone was getting back in the boat.

Then after we realized that everyone was ok, we were able to relax and compose ourselves and laugh at what had just happened. All of us had different stories of what they though happened, but all we wanted to do was go through it one more time!

We also took some time to hike to some natural slides. Here is Justin just about to go under the water. Nate our guide was so funny and wanted to make sure he did the slides and the waves at least 5 times before we left!

We had such a great time and definitely want to make a trip every summer! This is a photo of our group when we were all done around 5pm. The trip was a whole day adventure and so much fun! As Nate said the tradition is to stop at DQ and get a Blizzy in Rhody, so of course that is what we did and it was a perfect ending to our trip!

Fly Fishing

This weekend Justin, Chase and I went to the Deschutes river to fly fish. We bought the day of fishing at the boy scout auction about 2 months ago, and we went with a guide from our ward, Gregg Allison. I had been so excited to learn how to fly fish I made sure to watch A River Runs Through It at least 3 times!

We were just outside the town of Maupin, OR. It is a tiny little town, but since the weather was in the upper 90s the town was full of people going rafting. We saw at least 1000 people float by and this is just one raft that got soaked on Oak Spring falls!

In the morning we practiced our casting in an open area. After about 4 hours we took a break and had some lunch and took a little tour around the town. It was nice just to relax and get a coke.

Chase is excited to do some more fly fishing. We just need to find some more nice spots to fish! We are going to take advantage of all the garage sales and find some rods and reels.

Around 7pm we went to a new spot. It wasn't too long til the fish started biting! We all caught fish, but nothing over 7 inches. Mine was the size of my finger, but I am just happy that I was able to catch a fish on our first trip!

Chase is enjoying his summer break but unfortunately for me, I started classes already! But my rule is, if Chase is on summer break I can act like I am too! So today Chase and I headed to Trillium Lake, just below Mt. Hood, to do some fishing. It was the first trip of the season and first fishing trip in Oregon.
We were excited to finally have a break from the rain and enjoy the sunshine. Since last summer I am proud to say that I am the fishing Champ and today was no different. HAHA! We each caught two fish and we were excited that we didn't get skunked. The first 3 were smaller but luckily yours truly caught the catch of the day!!

We had such a fun day AND dinner! We can't wait to go back, but first I have to go to a few classes before the next trip. Also I have to mention the AWESOME World Cup game today! Just in case you didn't notice I had to support my team by wearing my USA jersey!... Next game Saturday 2:30ET vs Ghana! GO USA!!

WORLD CUP!! ... GO USA!!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!! The World Cup is finally underway! Friday was the opening game, and I got up extra early to watch South Africa vs Mexico. But what I have been even more excited for is the USA vs England game!! I planned to make a breakfast casserole for brunch and then for a half time treat I made American flag cookies! And of course I am wearing my Red, White and Blue to support my team! GO USA!!!

SUMMER! (almost)

I am finally done with my finals week! Luckily I only had 2 tests and a paper. Chase on the other hand, has finals next week and has close to 9 tests! Crazy, I no I could never do it, but he has been working so hard and doing really well in school! We are both so excited to be on summer break for a couple weeks. Sadly our breaks are not the same so we are going to take separate trips to Denver and St. George. Hopefully in September we will be able to take a trip somewhere together.
Now, on to the weather here in Portland. I am not too happy with the record days of rain! At first I thought people were exaggerating how much it rains here and during the winter it really isn't too bad. Now that its June I am more than ready for a glimpse of the sun and heat. But I think I have figured it all out. My theory is that all of this rain is in my favor, because now that I am on a short summer break the sun is going to shine without a cloud in the sky! The forecast is almost a dream... I am going to cross my fingers that more of this warm weather is still to come and Summer is here to stay!!!

Excursion, you will be missed!!

This week Chase and I sold the Excursion. There was a big weight lifted off our shoulders and when it came down to it we were more than ready to let it go. Sadly every mile we drove, it felt like "Excursio" was losing power. Not only was it getting close to being on its last leg, but we would put 30 bucks of gas in a week and that lasted around 90 miles. (Borderline Ridiculous!)

Now with that being said, "Excursio" was a great car. I remember being picked up in it for the first time when I was in 6th grade. There were countless trips made to and from Denver to Salt Lake. I think the record of people I stuffed in "Excursio" was around 12-15 and still a little room to spare haha! The 194,000 miles it lasted the Marsh family is amazing and I am so sad to see it go but it definitely had a great run with us!!... A few highlights: taking the soccer girls up to Bear lake, Fittting a 7-8 foot Christmas tree in the back, and of course the MANY ski trips!

Excursio you will be missed by many but thank you for all the great memories!!

Last Friday, May 7th, was our 2 year anniversary! It's crazy how fast the time goes, but we definitely have had a lot of fun the last few years. To celebrate this year we decided to make a weekend out of it. First, Chase has had the golfing bug lately, so we played 9 holes at a golf course close to our house. We didn't play too bad for our first round of the year, but some practice would help haha!

After golf we cleaned up and went to dinner at Stanfords. Chase hasn't stopped talking about how good his ribs were and wants to go back soon! We rounded out the night by heading to Iron Man 2. We both really liked the movie, even though it didn't get the best reviews.
Saturday it was so nice and sunny here so I made sure we spent the majority of the day outside. We went to Wahcella Falls with a picnic and did a fun hike.

Sunday we spent mother's day with Caraston, Justin and the kids. It was another perfect day for a hike so we went to Elowah Falls and it was so pretty! If anyone wants to come and visit we will for sure have to show you these hikes!

We had such a fun weekend and so happy that the weather was nice too! I am glad that Chase and I can live in such a nice area and have the support of both our families!... So here is to many more beautiful hikes and many more years of celebration!

Spring Break

For spring break this year we headed to where the sun always shines, sunny St. George! We needed a break from school, and we couldn't wait to see the family and hang out for a week without worrying about studying. We definitely tried to take advantage of being on break as much as possible by going hiking, swimming and camping. It was really fun to hang out with the whole Gentry clan and celebrate some birthdays while we were there.

For Jamie's bday we had a family dinner and the kids played on the blow up slide forever. It was nice to relax and enjoy the company of the fam. For Chelsa's bday she had scheduled for all the girls to go to karaoke in Vegas. I think we are all still laughing from that crazy night! Finally for Harry's 60th, we made a split decision and went to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. I think I was more excited than anyone else to see the show, but we all had a great time.

After we got back from St George, chase still had one more weekend before school started so we decided to head to the coast for a quick trip. Heidi and Eric joined us at the last minute and we were glad to hang out with them again.

We had a really good time on our break, and it was fun to see family and friends! We are excited for the spring weather in Portland so we can do some more mountain biking and hikes! For now, we are trying to get back into the groove of studying and keeping the grades up.

Virus/School/Spring Break

I can't believe it has been so long since I have updated the blog! I have had the good intention of doing it but never had anything to update with. One reason I have been slacking is my computer got a virus (luckily I have everything backed up), but its still pretty annoying to have to deal with it. So that means there will be no pictures this post...sorry. Also we have been really busy with school! The winter term has flown by, but it seems that the only thing Chase and I do is go to school, come home, have dinner, then study and maybe watch some TV, and then we start all over the next day!
We have had some fun though. Last weekend was our last time going night skiing. We had a fun season, but its nothing compared to Utah snow!! Friday and Saturday were our favorite days because it had just snowed so it wasn't just ice and crusty snow! Next year we are planning to go to Mt. Bachelor on Bend OR, and that should be awesome.
I finished my finals yesterday and Chase will finish on Friday. We could not be more excited for Spring Break! We are heading to Salt lake then driving down to St. George for the week. I have to come back before Chase because he gets two weeks for spring break and I am totally jealous!
Also it totally feels like spring here! All the trees are blooming and the weather is getting warmer and warmer! This spring and summer we are planning to find reallycool trails around here to do some mountain biking. Anyway that is all for now, I need to start packing for SPRING BREAK VACA!!

Happy New Year?!

Well we know that January is almost over but its never late to wish everyone a Happy New Year right?! We had so much fun in Denver over Christmas break. Trying to get back into the swing of school after winter break has been hard for the both of us. We both have really busy schedules with school and when we come home all we want to do is hang out and NOT study! But I guess we have to pass our classes, so a little studying isn't that bad.

Christmas Day we headed out for a little Sledding!!

We were also able to meet up with Jess and Nick before we left and before they move to Az/Ut. It was so fun to see them and sad they won't be in Denver anymore when we visit my parents.

When we got back from Denver we had planned to have our Christmas together. It was so fun to spend time together and open the presents we got each other! We wanted to keep our tree up so we could put presents under it. Since it had been up for over 3 weeks without water, if we barely brushed it needles went everywhere! Thanks to my mom she gave us some cute tree decorations, so we could enjoy our Christmas tree a little longer.

We have gone skiing a couple times up at Mt. Hood. So far this season the snow hasn't been that great, but there really is no comparison to Utah snow. We were spoiled last year with the time and location we had in Logan. The couple times we have gone here, we have had a lot of fun though.

We are going to try and make some more trips up to Mt. Hood, and try to survive the Portland rain a little longer. (Luckily the rain hasn't been too bad this winter!) We really like Portland and the area we live in, and feel lucky to have family around.

Tis the season

Chase and I could not wait for school to be over, and we are taking full advantage of our Christmas break. We have been in Denver for almost a week and its so nice to be on vacation.

Before we left Portland though, we did get a Christmas tree. There are tree farms all around where we live, and you can cut your own Christmas tree. Unfortunately, with finals going on we didn't have enough time to decorate it.

So far in Denver we have had a lot of fun. Its nice to be home for a little bit and see my parents. Also, we can't believe how nice the weather has been here. We went to the Broncos vs Raiders football game and it was in the upper 50s. Last year when we went it was seriously so cold! Anyway, we had so much fun at the game. Kenny worked his magic like always, and got us invites to the Comcast tailgate party! They had free food, drinks and a band playing. After the great food we headed into the game. Our seats were in the 33 row on the 50 yard line! Of course the Broncos blew it in the last seconds of the game, but being there was so much fun!

We still have another week before we go back to Portland, and have a lot that we want to do here. We can't wait for Christmas to see the rest of the fam damily, and excited to relax for a while longer!

Thanksgiving Week!

We had a great Thanksgiving with the whole Gentry Family. Everyone made the trek up to Portland and stayed for almost a week. Each day was booked with plans to keep us busy. We went ice skating, took the light rail downtown to the mall, saw zoo lights, hiked to a couple waterfalls, and of course, the girls went to New Moon. Most importantly Garrison was baptized on Saturday and the whole family was able be there!

For Thanksgiving dinner we went up to Silver Falls in Salem. We ate dinner in a cabin in the woods. It was so pretty and cozy! Around Silver Falls park there are 10 waterfalls in a 10 mile radius. We hiked to one and definitely want to go back in the summer and hike to the rest of them.

We also took family photos and I thought this one was really cute of all the kids. We had so much fun with everyone this last week and so happy that they all could make it up here. Hopefully we can all get together again soon!

Roloff Farms!!

After planning our perfect weekend with the Drakes we finally made it to Pumpkin season at Roloff Farms! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Roloffs, they are a family that stars in a reality show called "Little People, Big World" on TLC. The parents Matt and Amy are little people with 4 kids and one of them is also little (Zach). Anyway they live in Oregon and have a Pumpkin Patch every year, so we made plans months in advance to see Roloff Farms.

I love any opportunity to see a star, but before we could get started Chase needed to use the Port-o-Pottie. As I waited for him I kept my head on a swivel just in case I needed to snap a quick photo of a Roloff! Well as Chase came out of the bathroom he gave me a look like, "you gotta come here!" He told me that he could hear Zach in the trailer right behind the Port-o-Pottie! I, of course, had to use the sick thing just to confirm what Chase told me. It was TRUE, I heard him too! Then as I was telling Chase I heard him... Zach comes right around the corner. I needed a photo ASAP. The sad thing was, my heart was racing just to get a glimpse. Chase told me to be cool and talk to him, not just ask for a photo.

Apparently that was too much advice, because the photo is a little on the awkward side HAHA! Anyway, the rest of the visit at Roloff Farms was so fun. I love to pick out a good pumpkin to carve, and they had tons to choose from. So here is a photo recap of Pumpkin season.

Birthday Weekend

Last weekend was Chase's 26th Birthday! My mom also came to visit for the weekend, so we were busy. I had so much fun with my mom! We definitely stayed busy and I think I can say for the both of us, that we are still recovering! Friday we stayed in Portland and walked around PSU campus, then did some shopping at the mall.

On Saturday Chase had to study, but my mom and I headed up to Seattle to Gammie and Pompo's. We only went up for the day, so we had to leave around 8am. We spent most of the day rearranging Gammie's living room and we are proud of the renovation!

Then after all our hard work Pompo made an amazing crab dinner! I now know how to make a crab dinner and one day I might surprise Chase and show off my cooking skills.

Sunday was the big day! Chase's 26th birthday party! We went to breakfast in the morning with Glen, Sharon and Dillon. We ate downtown at this cute restaurant called Mother's Bistro. We will definitely go back again.
After breakfast we came back home and did some decorating. (Photos coming shortly!) We had dinner with Caraston, Justin and the kids. Justin made his signature homemade chili for us, and it was so good. Then Chase requested Banana Cream Pie for dessert and it hit the spot! I didn't get any photos of the party, but the highlight was the trick candles on the cupcakes! Gets'em every time. Anyway we had so much fun for Chase's Birthday and having mom come visit. Now the house looks cute and Chase is 5 yrs older than me! (well for a month at least!)

Non-Stop Before School

In our 2 weeks that we have been in Portland we have been going 24/7. Running errands, putting the house together, getting ready for school and the million other things that go along with moving!!... So again not enough time to blog, but I am trying to catch up on the blog.
Chase's mom and sister spent the first week here with us. It was so fun to have them around because it still seemed like we were on vacation. While they were here we went to the Dahlia Festival, and saw the prettiest flowers! We also went on my favorite hike so far. It had the coolest waterfall, and Chase and I want to go back to fish there. Here are a few pictures from the Dahlia Festival.

Our next adventure was a little trip up Seattle to see my grandparents, and to see the Utah State girls soccer team play a couple games. We had such a fun time seeing both the grandparents and the girls from the team. The Move

We're here!! We are now officially Oregonians. We moved out about 2 weeks ago and it has been non-stop since we got here. We took 2 days the make the 16 hour drive from St. George. Chase's mom drove with us and was nice to relieve me and drive for a while. We had the U-Haul towing Chase's car and Kathy and I drove my car the Excursion! It was a pretty drive most of the way and we stopped in a couple really cute towns along the way.

There is a lot that has happened since the last blog and not enough time to tell it all but i will try my best!
To start off, we made a Disneyland trip with Mitch and Meghan. We had so much fun with them and would go back anytime! We spent 2 days at the Big D and it was probably the hottest weekend on record. We were dying with the heat but that's nothing Splash Mountain can't fix. Here are a few photos of our trip.
We had a little car trouble on the way, but luckily it was just the air filter and the AC worked just fine.

Denver

Last weekend Chase and I went to Denver to visit my parents! Lucky for us it was Kenny's birthday on Friday, so we celebrated with him and ate a great dinner with his favorite cake. Jess and Nick came over to celebrate as well, and it was fun to hang out with them.

We had such a good time with Hailey and my parents and to be home for a little bit. We spent most of our time a the pool playing "College Tri" and "Ocho Cinco," games that my dad loves! Kenny was the MVP of Ocho Cinco, because he was laying out to catch the tennis balls then diving into the pool with grace. We went to my mom's showroom, Phoebe Marsh, and I would love to have my house decorated with everything in there! She has done such a good job pulling it all together! We played a few games of Roulette, no one won but it was an awesome table from the late 1800's.

We were sad to leave Denver and wished we could have spent more time there with my parents. But hopefully they can come out and visit us in Portland soon! We are moving over labor day weekend. Our summer may be ending soon, but we still have the Big D planned for this weekend and can't wait!! (That is Disneyland of course!)

The Hunt Is On!!

The Bow Hunt started on Saturday, so as you can imagine the boys were more than ready to hit the hills. We spent Friday night in Enterprise with Chase's friends and their wives. We had a great Dutch Oven meal, and of course had to have another obstacle course for the bedroom. Sadly Team Gentry lost by one second, so we had to sleep on the pull out couch.(We need help!)Turns out that no one slept well anyway. The boys were too excited to sleep, and when they got up they were not very courteous to the wives who were still sleeping. Unfortunately they didn't bring home the "bacon," but they still had a great time together.

I was sad that I couldn't be out there with them on opening morning, but I got all dressed up last night and went out with Chase. It was my first time on the bow hunt and man it gets really uncomfortable! I had a really fun time with Chase though, and hopefully he will get a deer before the hunt is over!

First Class Trip

Thanks to Auzzy and Dayna my first trip to Lake Powell was first class! We first stopped and fished for a little while and when we were rigging up a boil of striper fish came right passed us! We tried to hurry as fast as we could, but by the time we had the bait on they had all swam away. Just our luck. When we got to the house boat it was dark, but since this trip was first class we had people take us down the dock and straight to the houseboat on a golf cart! We were all pretty hungry so went to the restaurant and had dinner and rocked out to a surprisingly good cover band.
After a very "comfortable" night under the stars, we headed out to see the lake and to do some wakeboarding. I would also like to compliment our captain (Ron) for his excellent driving skills! While out on the lake Willy, Chase, and I jumped off a rock which we guessed it to be around 35 feet, a personal high for me!

We took a lunch break and headed back to the houseboat, and I still can not get over how huge the houseboats are at Antelope point. There are some that are easily close to a million bucks! Anyway, after lunch we decided to make an obstacle course. All I have to say is Team Gentry needed some improvement! But congrats to Team Van Dizzle. Even though it was a very short trip we had so much fun! I can't believe we are counting down the weeks until we move, but we still plan to have a lot of fun til the summer is over!

The Summer So Far

The summer so far in St. George has been great. We are working hard and playing hard too. We are trying to pack a lot into this summer before we have to hit the road to Oregon in September.
Earlier this summer we took a hike and found some cool slot canyons! We were really lucky during May and June, because the weather was so nice.

Thanks to my brothers working at Sports Den in Salt Lake, Chase and I were able to get some awesome mountain bikes. We go out for a ride almost every night. We love them! On the 4th of July we stayed in St. George and watched the fireworks at the Sunbowl. I love Fireworks and we were excited for them all day. On Sunday we headed down to Las Vegas for our nephew Griffin's baby blessing. We are so happy we could be there and had a great time with the family.
We still have more to do this summer including: Disneyland, Lake Powell, more bike rides, fishing, camping just to name few.

Hawaii

After we moved from Logan we were so happy to take an extended vacation to Hawaii. Thanks to Uncle Paul and Aunt Pat we stayed at their beautiful house on Maui. We were there for 10 days and we could have stayed longer. We spent most our our time on the beach down from the house. We are now champs at paddle ball, body surfing, and snorkeling. Each time we went out snorkeling we saw at least 2 turtles and tons of cool fish.

We also went on the Hana Hwy. which is a 25 mile road with over 600 turns. We only made it 7 miles. First we stopped at Twin Falls and did a rope swing through a waterfall. Then we stopped at the Bamboo Grove. It was a forest of bamboo and it was amazing! We had no idea what to expect, but ended up hiking to 3 different waterfalls that were so cool!

The last night we were there we went to a Luau. The food was so good! We are happy we went, but one is enough for us.

We had some good food while we were there. One of our favorite things to do was getting a shaved ice. Chase had one in a 32 oz. cup with ice cream in the bottom and it was so good! We can't wait for our next trip and hope its sooner rather than later!... Here are some more random photos from the trip.

Moving Adventures!

We have been pretty busy since school got out, but its ok because we are on summer break for 5 MONTHS!! We had quite the adventure moving out of our little house in Logan. First, we got a phone call on Sunday morning from U-haul saying that the truck we needed was not in stock (which we reserved a week before), so they would give us a FREE up grade to the 26 foot truck. Well, not only did we not want the 26 foot truck, there was no way it could fit in our drive way. So we decided to call around and see if any other company had a truck in Logan. After an hour of phone calls we found a U-haul in Salt Lake. That actually worked out because we were heading down ther anyway. When we got back to Logan we immediatley started loading the truck. It wasn't 30 minutes into packing and we found ourselves in the biggest rain storm of the year. We had to stop loading the truck because the water was getting into the truck. Chase came inside and helped pack some more boxes. Finally the rain stopped so we opened up the U-haul and got most of the boxes in that night, so we called it quits. Next, I was trying to set up our blow up mattress and of course the pump barely worked. So we made a trip to Wal-Mart at 12:30 am and bought a new one. With our luck so far, we got home and found out that the pump we bought had to be charged for 10 hours before use! We couldn't sleep on the hard ground so Chase climbed into the U-Haul and naturally all of the blankets were in the back and bottom of the truck. By the time we got the blankets and set up the bed it was 2 am and all we wanted to do was go to bed. After Chase had a midnight snack we went to bed, only to wake up and clean some more. Luckily the in the morning, packing went a lot smoother and we were on the road to St. George. All in all we had quite the adventure moving and don't mind waiting a little longer unitl our next move. Triathlon

This weekend I participated in my very first triathlon! It was the sprint level which is 750 yard swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. I was a little nervous for the bike since I had never been on a road bike! Thanks to Micall, I was able to borrow her bike and it worked out perfect! The swim was a little longer than I thought, but I stayed at a steady pace and made it though just fine. As soon as the swim was over we had the transition to the bike outside in the snow! I tried to get ready as fast as I could. I had 3 shirts and a rain jacket on to keep warm, and I needed every layer! There was one killer hill and I almost got off my bike, but I struggled through it and made it back for the run. Before I even got off my bike I could not feel my feet because they were so cold. But half way through the run I got some feeling in them again and finshed strong. I crossed the finish line just under 2 hours in 16th place! Chase helped me out so much and took great photos!

Spring Time!!

Its finally starting to feel like spring here, and I couldn't be more happy! We have been soaking as much sunshine as we can by fishing and playing with a sling Chase made. Unfortunately the fishing up here is not that great yet so we are struggling to catch anything. Luckily though Chase made us some cheap entertainment with a sling. We are getting pretty good at throwing rocks into the lake. (Maybe that's why we are having a hard time catching fish!) Also I have learned that Chase is a master when it comes to skipping rocks! I have never seen anyone skip a rock like he does! Anyway, here are some action photos we took throwing the sling.

Easter Weekend

This past Thursday we went to the Kalai concert. It was the third time that we have seen him play here on campus at USU, and we always look forward to his concerts! He is one of the best guitar players that I've ever heard. If you like his music on CD, you should hear him play live!!! He is seriously impressive. He toured with "The Wailers" (Bob Marley's band) so he has a reggae sound mixed with acoustic guitar. Overall it was a really good concert and we had a great time

This weekend we also went to Baby Animal Days. They have all kinds of baby farm animals there. I was really excited to see the baby ducks! They were so cute, so I had to hold one! It was fun to walk around and watch all the little kids pet the all the animals.... Then for Easter we had church at 1pm so we were able to sleep in, and for dinner Chase made a great dutch over meal. It was such a nice day, so we went on a walk to the dam. We saw quite a few fish and got excited to start fishing. I just hope the weather will stay nice! All in all we had a great Easter weekend, and excited that school is almost over!

STILL WINTER

Chase and I woke up this morning to find we had been covered in snow over night! We were not expecting this at all and I was a little bummed because all I want is spring to come and warm weather to be here! We decided it would be fun to go outside and play in our yard.
Beaver Mountain closed yesterday, so we spent last week getting some good ski days in before the season was over. We had so much fun this season skiing and proud to say we definitely put our season passes to good use! Here are a couple pictures of us from this last week. We are sad that the season is over, but excited for the weather to warm up!

Spring Break

We started out Spring Break by going to St. George. I could not wait to be in warm weather and not have to bundle up to go outside! It was so nice down there I didn't want to leave. We also made a quick trip Las Vegas. We spent the day walking around the strip, looked at all the beautiful flowers at the Bellagio, and did a little shopping. It was so fun to be with the family and by the end of the day we were all so tired. I can't wait for summer in St. George

After St. George we made a stop in Salt Lake to watch Trev ski in the U.S. Freeskiing Competition. We were really excited to hang out at Snowbird and watch all the skiers. Trev had a great run and went huge on the last jump but unfortunately he fell, but it was fun to be there for him! After skiing at Snowbird we realized how used to the Beav we are.

We ended our spring break by heading to Denver for the weekend! Kenny brought Stella to Denver a few days before we got there and was planning to take her back to Salt Lake, but since Chase and I were headed back on Sunday we had the "privilege" to return her to her parents. It really was not a bad experience. She was great on the plane! But on the way to the airport she just happened to throw up in her car seat, then casually fall asleep. But in the end we learned it was great birth control, and Stella is a great little niece!!... It was so fun to be in Denver. We were able to see the my mom's Showroom which is awesome. Both of my parents have done a some much work to put it all together and it is the best in all of the Design Center. It was also really fun to hang out with Hailey and Joe, we just wish we could have been there longer.

I thought that being from St. George not skiing that often was acceptable, but Chase had NEVER been ice skating before! That was a little shocking to me. So I thought it was my duty to make sure this winter he got on some skates. There is a park right around the corner from out house and for the first time in six year they made a ice skating rink at the park! It was so cool. They light it up at night, and it looked so fun! The only bad part is that they don't rent skates?! So all last week I was on a mad search for a couple pairs. We went to a so many different stores, but no where rents skates or they sold their last pairs yesterday!... So we had to resort to the indoor rink. It was still so much fun to go. We skated for a little while and as the time went by I am sad to say that Chase can actually "hockey stop" better than me! (That's right Chase I admit it! But there is still plenty of other things I can beat you at.) Anyway, we had a really fun time and want to go again soon! Hopefully we can go at the park soon.

Chase and I wanted to do something to ring in the new year. We had heard about the Bull Wars in Ogden, so we decided to make a little road trip down and watch the Bull riding. When we got there we were standing in line to buy tickets and a lady came out of the doors and gave us her two extra tickets!! How nice! We enjoyed a nice hot dog for dinner and a churro for dessert. Here is a preview of the bulls...

After the rider had fallen off the bull kept spinning and go so dizzy that it actually fell over and couldn't walk!! The show started off with the very first rider getting knocked out and had to be carried out of the ring. After Bull Wars we came home to watch the count down and had a cup of sparkling cider. We hope that everyone has a good safe year!!

Denver

"WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!"- Kenny

We had such a fun time in Denver! We started off going to the Broncos vs. Bills games. It was a really fun game, but FREEZING! We made sure to have plenty of blankets and hot Chocolate! Unfortunately the broncos lost, but it was a mile stone for both Chase and Tehmi it was their first NFL game.

The next adventure we had was getting a Christmas tree. When we pulled up to the lot we saw the tree that we wanted! It was laying on the ground so Hailey and I tried to stand it up. We didn't realize how heavy it was and almost fell over! We loaded it up on Dad's car and on the way home had to pull over a couple times to make sure the rope was still tight! The tree made Marsh history as the biggest of all time! We think it topped out between 16-18'!!
We spent the rest of the break hanging out with the family and the girls went shopping. Each morning we went and worked out, Chase and Dad played basketball, and Hailey and I played racquetball! We really got pretty good! I am proud to say that I beat Chase 2 out of 3 times which he was not very happy about!!

The whole week we were busy being with the family and having a good time! Christmas break was so much fun and we are really happy that we could be with family!

We are officially done with this semester, and too many more to go! This semester actually flew by we can't believe it. Since we both got done with school, we decided to celebrate and go skiing at The Canyons. It was a good day to get back into the grove, but don't worry Chase still can't beat me down the hill! There was only a couple runs open, but that was fine with us we had a great time. Since we are going out of town for Christmas we decided to get a fake tree. (This is my first fake tree) I do have to say though, I really like it. The DI always comes through for you. This little tree does fit the house nice! We can't wait to go to Denver for Christmas and hang out with the Fam and see more Christmas lights!

Thanksgiving Week!

DISNEYLAND

Where do we even start?! Thanksgiving break was so much fun, and definitely time we needed off from school! To start the break off going to Disneyland with the whole family was so fun! We can't believe that the drive from St. George to California is almost shorter than Logan to St. George! At Disneyland we couldn't get enough of the little kids loving/hating the rides! You would think that two solid days would be enough at the magic kingdom to get most everything done, but in those two days we only touched the tip of the iceberg! We were so busy the whole time, but when we were leaving we thought of so many more things we could have done! Harry and Kathy are the best for putting the whole trip together and making it a trip that we will never forget!!
Chase and I wanted to make the kids shirts for Disneyland, and when we got there it turned out to be really cool because we could spot them in a crowd of people!

The kids loved the parade! (and so did we) They would wave to all the characters that passed by and get extra excited if they waved back!

We already miss Disneyland and want to return soon! It really is the only place you can go and forget all your worries and have a great time! During thanksgiving week it was so fun to just relax and hang out with everyone! We were happy that Justin made it into town to join us!! Thanksgiving Dinner was amazing and we really didn't get sick of left overs it was so good!

We had so much fun hanging out with the Marsh/Tolberts as well! Who else would spend over four hours shooting! For the record I still have a bruise on my arm from shooting for so long! The next day was also fun going golfing with Trev, Tehmi, Micall, and TJ. I don't think we lost too many balls!
We can't wait to see everyone again soon!! And hope you have a Merry Christmas!!

Thank you so much Harry and Kathy for making this Thanksgiving break so much fun!! I hope that we didn't cause too much trouble while we were down there! We really appreciate all that you guys do for us! Love you!

Football and Carving

This last weekend Chase and I went to the USU vs. Fresno football game. The weather was so nice and Chase even got a tan during the game. Unfortunately the team lost in the last 2 seconds of the game from a 58 yard field goal! The Aggies played well though and it was definitely a fun game to go to!

We also had a really fun time with Swede and Shayla carving pumpkins! They turned out great and we are hoping that some brave trick-or-treater will come down our drive way on halloween to see them all lite up! We can not believe how fast this month has gone and that it will be November in less than one week!!.............. Sorry Swede and Shayla but we like our pumpkins the best!! (jk)

Chase is starting his own tradition because for the last two years he has only carved "Jack" and from now on he said that will be his signature carving. (even though we have never seen the movie Nightmare before Christmas!)

We can't believe it but its true, it has been snowing all weekend! We love it, but it feels like fall was only a week long. We hope that it keeps snowing so we can go skiing soon! We definitely had to get our winter clothes out and wear wool sock this weekend, but its nice and cozy in the cabin!

We were on our way to Salt Lake when we saw the biggest pumpkins of our lives!! We HAD to stop and get some blog worthy pictures! These suckers were over 1000lbs!! We couldn't believe it, and had to get proof of the monsters!

This seems like an annual event so maybe we will have to make a special trip back next year! We did have a couple questions... how are they going to carve those things? and how many batches of pumpkin seed could they make?! We had a fun day in Salt lake and can't wait for Chase to try out his new Skis!!!

It's definitely fall here! The weather has been so nice and it also gets a lot cooler at night which means... SKI season is coming!! We really can't wait to head up to beaver mountain and hit the slopes! Chase has been jealous of his friends in St. George because they have been sending him pictures of deer they've shot. I think this has been the hardest fall for him without hunting yet!... What is he going to do when we get to Portland?! Anyway, we are loving it here in Logan and trying to soak it all in. We can't believe that it is basically October and DISNEYLAND is around the Corner! We miss everyone so much and are so excited to be reunited again!

The squirrels!

Every morning at the same time we have little "barking" squirrels waking us up and running across the roof. Today we were watching a show called "Verminaters" and it showed an infestation in someone's attic... Chase did not like the idea of that so he went outside and did what he had to do to the poor squirrel! (but I am happy that there is one less!!) Hopefully they won't be around too much longer with winter coming!

That's right we got skunked! We were so excited to go fishing this last weekend, and the fish totally let us down!! But we still had a really fun time anyway! It was fun to get out and not worry about school or soccer. We want to go again soon and maybe next time we will have some more luck!

My first Police incident published!!!!

So i am proud to say that i made the paper this week!!... Just about a week ago I ACCIDENTALLY hit a parking sign on my way to soccer practice, and I couldn't be late to soccer, so drove off and went to practice. I told Chase about what happened and he joked and said i would be in the Police Blotter.... and what do you know.... I am FAMOUS!!!

The First Day of School

So it begins! The first day of school! We can't believe that summer is already over and the school year is in full swing! We both have a lot of work to do in our classes, so I am happy that Chase will keep me focused on passing my classes. The passed few days have been really hot here, but it definately cools down fast at night! This means less bugs Ya!! And just for Garrison we have seen some really cool bugs and the crickets are REALLY loud at night!

The soccer team had a game in Pocatello ID this weekend. This is Alex checking into the game. They lost in double OT, but it was still a fun game to watch! On our way home we saw a couple nice bucks! Can't wait to come home for the hunt!

Chase was hoping to see some good wildlife on our hike (he has hunting fever!!), but unfortunately this butterfly was about the only animal we were interested in!! It was pretty but not excatly what we hoped for. We love the weather in Logan and we are excited for our round of golf tomorrow.

Last weekend we decided to get outside for a little bit, so we went on a hike around Tony Grove Lake. We went off the path to get above the lake and even though we like the pictures we did NOT like all the sticker-burs everywhere!! It was really fun to take a break from soccer and have some fun together!

Finally the inside view! Not much room but we made it work. It took a lot of moving furniture around to finally get it all to fit, but we did it!! We were worried when we first moved in that we made a bad decision about the shack, but once we were all unpacked we have cahnged our minds!!

We are finally in Logan and moved into our "Love Shack." This picture basically shows it all! We love our little place and can't wait for everyone to come and visit! (But not all at once we don't have enough room!) The trees around us are awesome they shade us all day long and keep it quiet!

This was a really cool area that we were working in over the summer. All of the houses were on the shoreline of the lake, it was a nice neighborhood. We decided to take a little break and enjoy the sunset.
